    'Twilight' Movie Review

It is with great self-forcing, that I present you with a new entry to this almost long forgotten blog!!!

I just got back from the premier of Twilight-the movie about a human girl falling in love with a vampire and him finding his true lurrve in her. It's such a cliché,I know, but I happen to like clichés.Hehehe!Sho shweet...

OK so...these are my opinions about the movie. Robert Pattinson is one heck of a bee-yoo-tee-fool vamp (but who doesn't know that, huh?) and they were not kidding about the vamps looking pale. They're almost transluscent and Edward (Pattinson) even has bags under his eyes that made him look like he's dying or suffering from severe sleep deprivation. (By the way,Edward doesn't sleep in the movie)

The movie goes like this: (Achtung! - Skip this paragraph if you don't want to know the whole storyline!!Don't say I didn't warn you!)
Right. So the movie starts with the female lead character,Bella (Kristen Stewart) moving to Forks,Washington to live with her daddy because she couldn't stand her mom's second-marriage bridal glow. On the first day of school, unlike the typical loner who got alienated by everybody in the school,Bella has got a group of students wanting to befriend her, and she hesitantly but gratefully accepted. Then...............everything starts to move in sloooow mooootiiiooonnnn....In walks the palest, most gorgeous specimen of the Y-chromosome kind.....EDWARD!!! (Lay-deez....this is your cue to swoon). Bella could not take her eyes off of him, and he could not take his eyes off of HER.Slowly but surely, they started to fall in love, through a series of events including the Superman-like scene involving Edward stopping a skidding van with one hand. (Who wouldn't want a guy who is able to look soulfully in your eyes while he is saving you from being flattened into a pancake?) And then, this where the villains come into the picture. One is an African dude with a French name, one is a beautiful red-head with major psychological problems and one is a hot blond dude who has the ability to make the act of smelling look sexy.So the protagonists of the story went running for their lives (well, actually for Bella's life since the others are dead anyway,hahahaha!OK...). But in the end, Bella ended up at the hands of the big, bad, blond bloodsucker (How's that for alliteration!Say it 5 times in a row, fast!LOL!) anyway. And in comes Edward, snarling away, thus starting the Battle of Supremacy where the winner gets the girl. Of course, gorgeous Eddie won but not before darling Bella got bitten by the blond baddie. (And what an ugly wound, it was!) Therefore, Edward would have to decide whether to turn Bella into a vampire or suck out the vampire venom out of her but risk getting too addicted to her blood until he couldn't stop drinking it. Being the moral hero that he is, he did not turn her. They went to prom with Edward looking the ever dashing undead prince in a tuxedo and Bella in a beautiful blue dress with a leg brace and one side of a pair of sneakers as accessories. (The baddie broke her leg in the Battle of Supremacy.) And they live happily ever after....for now. Don't forget that there is another baddie-the psycho red-head-on the loose. (Oh yeah, the African dude with the French name turned out to be a good guy after all.) So I guess, she's gonna come in in the sequel which has been recently green-lighted by the big shots at the movie studio.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL!!!

Alrightey then! For those who skipped the previous paragraph, you can start reading here.
Let's talk about the actors' performances in the movie. I haven't read the books, nor am I planning to do so, so I don't really know how the characters are supposed to be portrayed. But from this movie, Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Edward was a bit kayu in the beginning, I think, but the kayu-ness is probably a good thing because it showed that Edward is awkwardly trying to get used to the attraction towards Bella, his soulmate. Plus, RobPat is sooooo fiiiine looking, that I doubt any girl would find his kayu-ness irritating. Everything would be forgotten once he flashed one of his smiles and every girl (and some boys, no discrimination) would turn into a puddle of goo. I did.HEHEHE!RobPat even fits perfectly for the look of a vampire-his sunken cheeks, big eyes that could see right through you and overall smokin' hot.

For Kristen Stewart's Bella, I think she is perfect for the role as she makes Bella believable. The vulnerability is there, the will is there and the chemistry with Robert Pattinson is definitely there. She just makes you want to be happy for her, even if she is kissing the hottest vampire ever.Darn you Kristen/Bella!

Oh yes, please skip this paragraph if you do not want to read about one of the scenes in the movie!Thank you.
So one of my favourite scenes in the movie is where the whole Cullen family (Edward's family) plus Bella went to an open field in the forest to play baseball during thunderstorms. The reason for it is ingenious,I tell you.Lol!Watch the movie to find out. I said I was going to tell you about one of the scenes...I didn't say I was going into detail about it!

Woah, this is one heck of a long entry! Alright then, to sum it all up, YOU HAVE TO WATCH 'TWILIGHT'!!!Like, ASAP!Some of you might love it,some of you might hate it.But I love it!So gonna watch it for the second time.I noticed that there are some scenes that were cut off.I'm not sure whether they would be shown in normal screenings starting today (Nov 27) or not, but there were some scenes being left out in the premier showing.Darn!

Oh well, that's it then for this entry.Hopefully I will be able to push myself to write up another entry in the coming days or weeks. Toodles!

    AND WATCH 'TWILIGHT'!

Do not mess with da Dolls!

Despite the connection the Pussycat Dolls and Hitz.fm have to the recent MTV Asia Awards,(I'm still very sore about that topic, sob)this is just too crazy not to be blogged about!

I just watched a video of the Pussycat Dolls pranking (or Gotcha-ing) Adam C from Hitz.fm.
And let me tell you,it was NAIL-BITINGLY AWKWARD!!!!Seriously,I couldn't stop myself from letting my jaw drop.

Supposedly,Adam thought he was pranking the PCDs.Instead, unknown to him,it was the other way around.

The ever-loony Rudy and JJ devised this whole thing and the PCDs were sporting enough to be in on the game.

It all started when Adam started asking the Dolls some rude questions. Finally, one of the questions 'seriously offended' Jessica and she ran out of the interview room in tears.

After that,I just feel so sorry for poor Adam.Getting scolded by four 'pissed off' Dolls with nobody to save you is not a situation I would force upon anyone!

Adam just got paler and paler by the second and Kimberly gave an almost Oscar-worthy performance as an angry groupmate.Bravo!Melody's not bad too!

    I feel for ya,Adam!Really,I do.

This is the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQFcz8GHnyc

    Enjoy!

    I Can't Wait For This!!

Darn you Grace for telling me about this movie. Now I'm so excited about it.Too bad it's only coming out in December.Hopefully it'll be shown in good ole Malaysia. If not, there's always Thiru to count on.Mwahahahahah!
Anyways,Robert Pattinson is ONE HAWT HOT HAWT Brit.Drooooooool!!!
I saw the trailers, both of them. They kinda sucked and Robert's expressions are kind of wooden and awkward, but that's just the trailers.
Maybe he'll look better in the actual movie. *shrug*

A Rockin' Good Time with Daughtry

Just when you think no good international acts will ever come to Malaysia, you have Panic at the Disco,Avril Lavigne and a long list of acts coming here for the MTV Asia Awards like Leona Lewis,One Republic,The Click Five,The Script,The Pussycat Dolls and Jared Leto.Phew!!

While I have almost given up trying to win tickets to the MTV Asia Awards,I'll definitely try to win tickets to Avril's concert this coming August 29th.W00t w00t!

    Speaking of attending concerts,Daught
ry was in town last Saturday (27th July 2008) for the Sony Ericsson Traffic Jam Party.I won four tickets to the show through the local radio station as the only other way to get the tickets is to buy a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone.Crazy,I know!

So,I was there with my sister(Leticia),Abby and Thiru(dude,I'm still waiting for whatever it is that you're going to give me!lol!). The opening acts are not bad especially the Asian Percussion Band (I'm not sure about their actual name, though it definitely sounds something like that). They are one cool group of percussion-playing dudes!Another opening act was Daniel Lee,the second Malaysian Idol.I can't say that I'm a fan of his,not really, but I have to give him credit for trying as hard as he could to get the crowd excited.Too bad the only excited section of the crowd came from a small group of girls holding up signs of his name.I noticed that the rest of the 3000-strong crowd looked a bit bored.Sorry Daniel.Though the next opening act which consisted of three of the top DJs in Malaysia, spinning out recent tunes to make us boogie it down.

Another thing worth mentioning was dear, dear Thiru winning himself a Sony Ericsson phone.Damn him!(Thiru,if you're reading this,I can see that you're either smiling or laughing. Please do not brag!Your head will not fit into your own house if you continue to do so..Face problem my foot!)

Then FINALLY,after 3 hours of waiting since the concert started at 8pm,Daughtry was on stage!!!!

By then,my feet were aching like hell! But like any concert-goer standing in the front row,I screamed and sang along and ignore the pain as Chris and the band jammed.

They were on stage for about an hour, but what a rockin' good hour it was! I didn't pay attention to the list of songs played, but those included all of their released singles and other songs from their album. My favourite is It's Not Over.Sigh!

In the end, like Thiru said,it was "short and awesome".I had an extremely good time despite my feet almost killing me and the thumping bass coming from huge a*** speakers right in front of me,almost destroying my eardrums!

Here are two pictures that I've taken using my darling phone:

    Daughtry: I AM NO.1,PEOPLE!!

Awesome light effects,eh?I especially like the picture on the far right.I looks like the light is coming out of Chris's guitar as he plays it.

    The Fart Express

God made us noses so that we can smell.

God made us noses so that we can have another extra sensing ability in case our sight and hearing have gone to hell. (hehe!)

However,God did NOT make us noses so that we can 'enjoy' a whiff of fart in a train cabin!!!

This epidemic has been on the rise since trains, elevators and other contraptions created to hold many people, had been created. Those are small spaces, where people share the oxygen, accumulate carbon dioxide and shove smelly armpits into peoples' faces.

So what is the deal, people?I know that we are human, and that humans are supposed to release gases formed in the body. What I do not understand is that why those people always need to release those gases while being in an enclosed space crammed to the brim with other people!

One minute you're standing there, enjoying the nicely air-conditioned cabin, when suddenly, some bird-brained cow released his/her (we do not discriminate) atomic bomb into the air!!
And all you can think of is PHWOR!!!!!!!WHAT THE £$^$*%*^!!!!

I mean, why can't they release those gases BEFORE stepping onto the train? If you have bowel problems,go buy a car and fart all you want in them. But DO NOT,for the love of everything sweet smelling, inflict your SBDs (Silent but Deadly) onto innocent bystanders!

To all those train cabin-farters out there:Please refrain from killing your fellow passengers. What did we do to deserve such cruel treatment? What did we ever do to you?Huh?

This is a serious issue, ladies and gentlemen!I would like to make a suggestion to the Train Builders Guild of Malaysia (if there is one) : Install as many oxygen masks in every cabin that you possibly can and a sensor that keeps track of the air around the cabin. It will be just like in airplanes.Once the air consistency changes, masks will drop from the cabin ceiling to ensure passengers' continuous supply of fresh air.

However, someone should invent a device that searches out the f***er (oops,I mean farter) and stop him/her from getting his/her oxygen mask.Let them have a taste of their own medicine.

Do I sound cruel?I do not think so.

    It's just justice.

A Chillin' Tale of Air Con

It is official, ladies and gentlemen! This is my first ever blog post!! (not counting the one with the Picture Slide, that's just a test drive,or rather, test 'post'.)
So what should I write for my first online diary post?Well, lucky for me,I went to catch a play called 'Air Con' yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) with my friends.
At first I was feeling quite down the day before because I always have this bad feeling whenever I have to go to an event.Maybe it's just laziness or just nerves.
Anyway,Grace and I travelled by train to KL Sentral for lunch at McD's (sorry Grace, for mistaking ur Chicken order..heheh!) and met Abby there. Then,we took a train to Sentul where KLPac is located. We took a taxi there from the train station.(Oh yeah, props to Pak Cik Zahari, for being such a nice taxi driver!)
After collecting the tickets,we were waiting for Grace's friend Bavani to arrive. All four of us managed to watch the play, albeit some problems concerning Bavani's taxi driver's knowledge of the Sentul area.
Alright, let's talk about the play, shall we?
Air Con is basically a story that involves the challenges a group of high school students have to face in the name of social conformity. The story also revolves around the mysterious and brutal murder of a transvestite in a abandoned railway station behind the school.
The play tackles issues such as homosexuality and how it impacts the lifes of the people who have to deal with it.
There is also a dual-meaning to the title. The first obviously means the Air-Conditioner which plays a role in the play as well. However, the second meaning can really make someone blush.Let's just say that it involves a sexual act and some mint. *clears throat*.....
The actors were amazing, especially the three leads,Burn,Chep (I'm not sure what their actual names are) and Dara Othman who plays Aishwarya Roberts, the transvestite(though I'm pretty sure she's an actual transvestite) while the supporting casts will keep you in stitches!Gosh!Asif and his cursings and no-nonsense attitude and William with his 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' rendition and obsession with the size of Asif's 'attribute'!!My goodness!(Grace just loves watching my expression to their jokes and antics)
Needless to say,we were blown away by the drama, humour and other complexities of the play.I'm so glad that we watched it and it is totally worth the ticket price.
Oh yeah, the night after coming home from the play,I had a nightmare involving a hockey stick and a beaten up body.It was SCARY,I tell you!
Anyway,I had a great time with my friends and it is nice meeting a new friend,Bavani. She's such a sweet gal.
5/5 stars for Air Con!!And kudos to Shannon Shah for writing such an interesting play!I love it!
