It is official, ladies and gentlemen! This is my first ever blog post!! (not counting the one with the Picture Slide, that's just a test drive,or rather, test 'post'.)
So what should I write for my first online diary post?Well, lucky for me,I went to catch a play called
'Air Con' yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) with my friends.
At first I was feeling quite down the day before because I always have this bad feeling whenever I have to go to an event.Maybe it's just laziness or just nerves.
Anyway,Grace and I travelled by train to KL Sentral for lunch at McD's (sorry Grace, for mistaking ur Chicken order..heheh!) and met Abby there. Then,we took a train to Sentul where KLPac is located. We took a taxi there from the train station.(Oh yeah, props to Pak Cik Zahari, for being such a nice taxi driver!)
After collecting the tickets,we were waiting for Grace's friend Bavani to arrive. All four of us managed to watch the play, albeit some problems concerning Bavani's taxi driver's knowledge of the Sentul area.
Alright, let's talk about the play, shall we?
Air Con is basically a story that involves the challenges a group of high school students have to face in the name of social conformity. The story also revolves around the mysterious and brutal murder of a transvestite in a abandoned railway station behind the school.
The play tackles issues such as homosexuality and how it impacts the lifes of the people who have to deal with it.
There is also a dual-meaning to the title. The first obviously means the Air-Conditioner which plays a role in the play as well. However, the second meaning can really make someone blush.Let's just say that it involves a sexual act and some mint. *clears throat*.....

The actors were amazing, especially the three leads,Burn,Chep (I'm not sure what their actual names are) and Dara Othman who plays Aishwarya Roberts, the transvestite(though I'm pretty sure she's an actual transvestite) while the supporting casts will keep you in stitches!Gosh!Asif and his cursings and no-nonsense attitude and William with his 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' rendition and obsession with the size of Asif's 'attribute'!!My goodness!(Grace just loves watching my expression to their jokes and antics)
Needless to say,we were blown away by the drama, humour and other complexities of the play.I'm so glad that we watched it and it is totally worth the ticket price.
Oh yeah, the night after coming home from the play,I had a nightmare involving a hockey stick and a beaten up body.It was SCARY,I tell you!

Anyway,I had a great time with my friends and it is nice meeting a new friend,Bavani. She's such a sweet gal.
5/5 stars for Air Con!!And kudos to Shannon Shah for writing such an interesting play!I love it!
